In response to a question from a Bloomberg reporter that the Financial Times reported earlier today the US has frozen new export control measures on Chinese entities as a goodwill gesture ahead of trade talks, and that China has agreed to do the same, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Monday that China-US economic and trade cooperation is, by nature, mutually beneficial.

Since the beginning of 2025, gold-themed investment funds have been selling well. Now, the scale of 53 gold-themed funds in China has more than doubled from the end of 2024. Analysts said that this year, gold assets remain one of the categories that investors pay the most attention to.

When asked about some people in the EU thinking that the agreement they recently reached with the US "is not ideal, but it is the best they could achieve," and whether China would be willing to accept a suboptimal agreement on the negotiating table or withdraw from the negotiations, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated on Monday that "regarding the trade agreement reached between the EU and the US that you mentioned, what I want to say is that China has always advocated for all parties to resolve economic and trade differences through equal dialogue and consultation, maintain a favorable international economic and trade cooperation environment, and abide by the rules of the World Trade Organization."
